December 11, 2024
Dear Barbara,
Thank you for your letter dated 9/ 17/24, which arrived shortly before my birthday (which was
on 9/27/2024).
I thought the story about the guy telling the state trooper that his wife had left him for a state
trooper and that he was afraid that the state trooper was trying to bring her back and that that
was why he was speeding was funny.
Regarding the request that I write a letter to Trump and send it to Marie Goodwyn, I have a
letter ready to send but so far I have not sent it. (I heard that Ms. Goodwyn was going to
meeting with Trump on December 11, today, and that she was going to hand deliver J-6ers’
letters to Trump. So it may be too late at this point for me to send a letter to her.) I have
struggled with the decision of whether or not to send a letter to Trump.
Of course, I would like to get pardoned and out of prison. But part of my mind wants to leave it
to divine providence. – to the powers above- whether or not I get pardoned. (i.e., maybe I
should not send the letter.) I did scuffle with the police (but I did not hurt anyone and I had no
intention of doing so.) So (without the letter.) Trump might say that I committed a “crime of
violence” and should not be pardoned.
But I recently learned new things about the charges against me, and I feel confident about my
appeal. (my appellate opening brief has still not been filed, even though I have been locked up
since 5/31/2024.) it would be beneficial, I think, to have the appeals court rule that my
conviction was unlawful (which it was). And such a precedent would apply to other J-6ers as
well.
But on the other hand, if I don’t get pardoned, and I wait for a decision from the appeals court
that could take another year. Do I want to sit in prison for another year? (No.)
So with these conflicting thoughts going through my mind, I have still not sent the letter to
Trump.
Aside from all that… HOORAY! Trump won! Now maybe some good things will happen within
our government. We have RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Elon Musk and surely other good people,
along with Trump working to right the ship.
By the way, on page 6 of your letter you quoted proverbs 26:26 as saying: “Like a muddied
spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives away before the wicked.” But I
looked up proverbs 26:26 and it does not say anything like that. You apparently cited to the
wrong section of the Bible.
Merry Christmas. (well I’m a little early but it’s coming soon..)
Best wishes,
Vincent
