Barbara,
I really appreciate that you always write me back and include so much to read and consider with your letters. I appreciate the scriptures, quotes and hymns you include. I really liked the quote from Fred Rogers, “Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” My wife and I often talk about how God has a great work happening and is weaving a beautiful tapestry, and we are but a thread in it. As we closed one chapter of life (Pre-J6) a new chapter has opened that has filled us with more purpose and meaning.
My wife had focused on helping the Prison Orphans become involved in sports, music, camps and classes to help provide them financial assistance that is needed to be involved in those programs. I believe I have told you about this before, but as my wife focuses on this purpose, the Lord is good enough to help provide for Her and the kids in the most mysterious ways.
I have found meaning and purpose her in prison by helping my fellow inmates practice the Christian principles we preach. To release bitterness, to be accountable, to forgive to be forgiven. I have shared many solemn conversations with inmates as they work through many emotions and barriers that prevent them from true healing. I also appreciated the list of scriptures admonishing us to sometimes keep our mouths shut. While there clearly are times when our voices are required, there are surely times where silence is better.
One thing that seems a constant with intrastate are construction and traffic. I am glad you can use your road time to pray. It sounds like if Wolfie can’t learn to just bark at the squirrels instead of chase them his legs will give out. He must have a young heart and spirit to keep chasing the squirrels with such gusto.
I used to love when the Blue Angels came to town during Seafair… how fun they are back again. What in Incredible display. I am in a medical facility, I am not here for medical reasons, I am here as part of the work cadre. We are normal low security inmates (with some exceptions) who are here to work. Jobs like orderly, food service, plumbing, elevator service, or in my case, carpentry. I work in the woodshop as a carpenter, I tell people I am using the time to follow the example of my mentor and guru…
I have been amazed watching the Democrat party open doors everything they accuse their opposition of doing. Anti-democratic, persecuting political opponents, utilizing public/ private relationships (facism), fundraising fraud (ActBlue), no articulated political platform, I could go on and on… We will see how things go, just do all you can to make sure everyone you know uses their ballot, because if they don’t use their ballot, someone else will.
God Bless,
