Barbara,
I do love hearing from you. I actually loaned that book out to another inmate. I told him it had
some wonderful information and was in many ways timeless. I am very happy to hear you have
joined some prayer groups. It’s critically important those prayers get offered up, but faith
without works is dead. Hopefully every praying person votes, reminds all their friends, family,
and associates to vote and follow up. God will make up the gap when we do our part. I grew
up with the saying, “Pray like everything depends on God, but work like everything depends on
you.”
It’s never too late for America. America is an idea. The idea that all men and women are
created with certain inalienable rights, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. America is the
country and her people. In America, we are not subjects to any king, we the people are divine,
made in the image of our creator. Our nation is the government. The country and the nation are
two separate things, it would be wise for us to remember this.
I am long on America. I believe in her people, nations may come and go, but in America, we,
the people know who our neighbors are, we aspire to our ideals, sometimes in spite of our
nation. As we see in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. In crisis, neighbors and
countrymen step up to help each other. Before politics, religion, or creed, we the American
people, our neighbors, brothers and sisters. It’s my belief that the American dream is not dead
or dying, we are at worst in a period of renewal.
I actually speak Portuguese, I lived in Brazil for a few years. Saudade is one of those words
that has not true translation, – presence of absence – is close, but it still more. I do have
saudade for many things, most of all my family.
I am sorry to hear about your friends loss of both her husband and son. Each loss is tragic.
We can only be controlled by a belief they are in a better place together.
This morning on Fox News they said one in five heart attacks are now in people under 40.
They have set records for young athletes dying on the field during practice and games. Fox
tried to say it was “processed foods” and “climate change”. The doctor had a long bit on
eating healthier. The host, asked if it could be the MMR vaccines. The doctor said “maybe”. We
have had processed foods for decades, it is no hotter now by margin then it’s been decades
past – yes you can say “vaxed injured.” My family and friends too have been affected by this
new phenomenon.
