Dearest Barbara,
Thanks for thinking of me and sending letters. I’m proud to know you got the wallet and are enjoying it. What a wonderful mission you set yourself on by writing us all, sharing with you something I made here in prison seems one of the least of things you deserve for all the love you shower. I really appreciate the forwarding of that print to my mother. That really is a beautiful piece and I’m happy we came across it through the Magnificat magazine.
Everyone here had been talking about the Supreme Court wins and the election that is now unbelievably only 4 months away. I had a legal call this week and my appeal lawyer is strategizing the future of my case going forward now that one of my charges, the obstruction of Congress one, has been rolled back from the Supreme Court to the circuit to rethink. Already putting the best face forward with that appeal of mine, now to see what else there is to argue in my case.
It is hot and humid here in Central Florida. I try to get my walking in early and hide from the sun until afternoon. The leather shop has been great for that and I’m learning a lot. My daughter starts kindergarten this fall so I just finished a backpack for her and sent it to her mother. She has been very busy lately with soccer, dance recitals, pre-k graduation — so busy!
O goodness Barbara, did you watch that debate? Holy smokes! And today, just now, Biden at the NATO summit introduced Zelenskyy as Putin, president of Ukraine —good grief! Landslide? I passed my horticulture course and earned my FNGLA certification too. I hope that next week we receive those documents and get to share a final celebratory salad!
The 4th of July was the first in my time inside without any fireworks. At least in DC the cell windows overlooked some of the horizon and bursts of color after dark. How is Wolfie doing? Still a little under the weather? Enjoying the summer? Gosh all this recent winning has made me wonder about what happens when I get out. It’ll be good to finally get to pick up pieces of my life and restart again. Trump has certainly promised pardons and after his own treatment by a weaponized DOJ I hope he follows through. I could certainly use the mercy. I’ve completed more chapel programs and now have begun one called Faith Based Conflict Management —it is a good one too!
I heard that Donny Wren is leaving us next week for the halfway house. Can’t wait to walk out
that gate myself. The time is coming though, sooner or later!
God Bless You!
