On January 6th, 2021, Kevin and Hunter Seefried traveled from Delaware to attend the Stop the Steal rally. Upon arrival to the Capitol, they approached the building and gained access by entering through a broken window. Kevin Seefried gained notoriety during the J6 events when he was captured on video carrying a Confederate flag. As a result, he faced multiple charges. On the other hand, Hunter, who accompanied Kevin, did not possess any weapons and did not cause harm to anyone. He had joined his father in supporting their cause at the Capitol.

Despite the fact that Hunter’s actions were nonviolent, he was sentenced to 24 months in prison due to his involvement. Kevin, on the other hand, received a harsher sentence of 36 months in prison and one year of probation, with Judge McFadden condemning his behavior as “outrageous.”

Kevin during sentencing said he regretted what happened and added: “I had no idea that any of this would ever happen,” he said. “My intention was to use my voice … I never wanted to send a message of hate.”

While it is important to note that entering the Capitol through a broken window is an ill-advised act, it pales in comparison to the actions of many Antifa and BLM activists who have committed far greater offenses, including destroying building, assaulting and even killing police, but have largely escaped legal consequences. This highlights the issue of unequal justice under the law.

Regrettably, we have been unable to reach out to either Kevin or Hunter for their comments. Currently, they are serving their sentences at FCI Allenwood Low, located in Pennsylvania.

Kevin’s wife and Hunter’s mother is now struggling financially and needs help to keep the lights on.
